When you thought I wasn't looking...

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING

A message every adult should read because children
are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my
first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately
wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a
stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind
to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my
favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little
things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a
prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always
talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a
meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I
learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care
of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have
to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you
handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't
feel good, and I learned that I would have to be
responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come
from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things
hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you
cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of
life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and
productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and
wanted to say,'Thanks for all the things I saw when
you thought I wasn't looking.'

How is being a Christian like being a pumpkin?

...God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.

He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."

This was passed on to me by another pumpkin.
I liked this enough to post it for all the pumpkins in my patch.

Hot Caramel Apple Cider

My good friend and neighbor Tracy Kegley just posted this recipe on Facebook and I wanted to share with my xanga friends too! Hope you enjoy!

Here's the recipe for the Hot Caramel Apple Cider:
Need: 1/4 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 3 cups apple cider, 1/2 cup water...1/2 cup heavy cream, and 1 Tablespoon brown sugar.
Step 1: First, bring the 1/4 cup cream and 1/4 cup brown sugar to a boil in a med. saucepan over med. heat. Stir in the cider and the water and raise the heat to medium high, heating just until the cider begins to steam, about 4 min.
Step 2: Divide among 4 mugs, top each one with 2 Tablespoons of caramel whipped cream (Step 3) and serve immediately.
Step 3: caramel Whipped Cream: In a small chilled bowl, whip the 1/2 cup heavy cream with the 1 Tbsp. brow sugar until soft peaks form

August 29

Today is my Molly's 4th birthday and we cannot believe it! She has truly blessed us everyday of her four years and we are so thankful to God for allowing us to take care of her and raise her to be a sweet young woman of Christ. Before she was born this was and still is our prayer over her:
James 1:17 "Every good and perfect gift is from above, sent down from the Father of heavenly lights."

A Moment...

At football practice last week, we had to take a (pee) break and walk into the high school for Miss Molly. The boys were following behind me and Brody was crying because he was lagging behind. Cooper said, "I will hold your hand Brods, don't worry." I turned around and found them just like this....

And I could already see their senior annual with this picture followed by a picture of them as seniors holding hands in their football uniforms. Always Together. Always.

Back To School

The Cox Clan have all now officially started back to school and I wanted to share the kids 1st Day of School Pictures for 2009:

We are slowly getting back into the swing of things - packing lunches and backpacks, getting up early, TRYING to go to bed early (the twins don't think that's necessary) and missing Daddy while he is gone all day to work and then to football! Mommy is exhausted with lesson plans, projects at home to be prepared at school, sewing, hairbowing and showing!! We will get it all figured out soon though and hopefully be back to some sort of schedule before Christmas break rolls around! I hope everyone has fallen back into step with their Back to School schedules!!

I have added a new item to MCBs Bows - Taggie blankies for boys and girls!! Haven't you ever noticed that babies like to play with the tags on toys, clothes, blankets, better than the item itself? Now I have taken care of that! These are 12 X 12 blankies (or larger if you want) with tags all around the edges! Please take a look, they are perfect for shower presents or new babies! Steps of Faith Preschool

Tomorrow morning, August 19, 2009 begins another year for the kids and I at Steps of Faith Preschool. Molly and the twins are all moving into different classes which puts Miss Molly in my class and the twins are not too happy about it! Please be in prayer that tomorrow will go smoothly for ALL of us, not just the Cox Clan but all the other sweeties and families that have decided to make Steps of Faith their preschool of choice! I pray for a blessed and wonderful year for all of us!

Molly's Arm

Just wanted to update you that Miss Molly got her cast off her arm yesterday and the x rays show that her fracture has healed beautifully! We will go back in one week just to be sure but she is so thankful and we are heading to the pool in a little bit! She cannot wait to get wet!!

Instead of a week in review, here are our 5 days in review from Myrtle Beach, SC:

Our gorgeous view, 20 feet from the doors to the condo - doesn't this look like a postcard?

We sure did have fun in the sand and the waves but my kids enjoyed the pool much better!!

Coop could hold his whole face underwater for a full 5 seconds while Molly and Brody had fun floating and jumping off the side to Daddy!!

This Cox Clan sure cleans up nicely if I do say so myself! We had so much fun at Myrtle Beach thanks to my mom and dad who let us borrow points from their time share (Blue Green Resorts) and to Chad's mom for going with us and helping with the ninny-muggins!! We definetly didn't want to come home!!
